2011 Goals

As the year 2010 dwindles down it's time to make my first official goals. Since I have only been seriously breeding now for about a year or so I can finally set my own goals and what I want for the rabbitry :)
Here are my goals for this coming year.

- Get started with Fuzzy Lops
- Add 6 more holes
- Make better choices in buying rabbits lol.gif
- Get a BOB with a homegrown
- Grand a rabbit
- Attend Convention!
- Attend ND Nationals
- Attend Holland Nationals
- Keep Shed Cleaner
- Spend more time with the bunnies

Those are my goals! smile.gif I hope I can accomplish them all. I am sure I will think of more and add more too them haha smile.gif

They are coming!

Well today is AWESOME! If I do say so myself :)
I got my license today!! Yahooooo!!! I am sooo excited, I for sure thought I was going to fail and well I didn't! How awesome is that?!? Here I come bunny shows! haha :) Anyways!
I am finally getting a start on my trio of fuzzies! I am super excited!! I will be picking them up at PaSRBA. I will be getting an orange, a tort and a tort or black buck. I can't decide which one haha :) I can't wait to get them they are gorgeous!! I am excited to start with them. I think my main breeds are going to be Fuzzy Lops and Holland Lops. Ziva will stay as a pet though for sure.
Then I am getting 4 new hollands :) I guss I need to start making some more room haha that's 7 new bunnies and I think I have 6 leaving? Which then means I am short 1 cage plus I need a cage for all the babies so that's 5 more cages. Ouch guess I need to find some way and fast! haha :) Good thing I have another month or so until the new kids come in! I can't wait!! Now I just need to get the money to pay for them haha :)

I GOT THE CAR!

I GOT THE CAR!!! Yay!! I am sooo excited!!! I can't believe it! I have my own car!! I confirmed it last night and i am going to pick it up on Saturday! It's only $600! I am so happy! Yesterday while shopping I picked up a steering wheel cover! yay! Lol I know there aren't really that many things your car could need but I am so excited! I can't wait to go shopping for it! haha :)
I got new pictures of te shed put up! I did that yesterday I reorganized the whole shed, well I guess I really didn't reorganize more like I put stuff in big bins and straightened up. I am happy the way it looks now. It all pretty much matches for the most part. I think I might paint it sometime in the near future maybe. But for now it's looking really good! www.wagnersrabbitry.weebly.com ... I have pictures on there if you want to look at them it's under My Rabbitry haha :) No news on the AFL/ HL decision really pretty sure I am gonna go with AFL and just get a trio to start out with for now and see how I like it. Who knows maybe I will end up with just hollands as my main breed then a bunch of other showable pets!

I want the car so badly!!!

So since I have been working I have managed to save up a pretty good chunk of money. Well I found a car I want I go for my license on Thursday so naturally I want a car. I have been looking for a car for so long now and I think I finally found the one. It's a 1991 black toyota corolla and it has 124,000 miles on it. Sure that's a lot of miles but for a poor high school soon to be college student I think that's okay lol :) I am really excited I talked to the people and now I am just waiting for them to respond. I hate waiting, I think they should be at their computer 24/7 waiting for my response haha yeah right. Anyways I am reallly excited I have a good feeling that this is my car. If I get I will be sure to let you guys know! With pictures too!

So this post actually has something to do with rabbits, since well this is my rabbitry blog haha :) I went to TSC (Tractor Supply Co) today and since that's all I wanted for christmas I got a bunch of gift cards!! I am sooo happy!! So Today I got 3 bags of food, 2 bags of wood chips, 1 bag of sunflower seeds (to make them fat), 1 bag of whole oats, and a big massive cart! haha it's like the kind of carts you go to a nursery and see like the garden carts. Anyways it's the perfect (hehe) cart! I am excited to use it! Then I went to Wal-Mart and got 2 boxes of quaker oats, a box of cheerios, a bag of carrots, 4 tubs, 2 pitchers, and measuring spoons! The bunnies got their new toys for christmas and all this stuff! Hopefully Jedan's babies will make weight for farm show :)

The right breed?

I think I found the issue. I think I have the wrong breed, I absolutely whole heartily love Hollands without a doubt no questions down.  However, I am struggling to get the type I want and need to have to compete on the tables. I feel like I say I don't really care about winning but like I haven't had that experience of winning to really know what it's like. I think I need to find a breed that's not really competitive but still has some competition. Currently I am thinking about fuzzy lops, or something like that. They are like the hollands which I LOVE but aren't as competitive. At PaSRBA Julie April Chrissy and I are going to be test driving some breeds for me I decided. I feel like if I can find the right breed that's not too competitive I will be able to start holding my own on the tables. So what does this mean for the Netherlands? I am not really sure right now, I don't think they are the right breed for me though unfortunately. As much as I love Ziva Mallorie and Chomper I just don't have the same feeling I have for them as I do Hollands.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

Anyways, there isn't much of a point to this blog post haha :) but I moved Jedan and Panda's babies into the weaning cage which is like 24 x 48 so it's GYNORMOUS they all fit in there looks a little crammed but it will do. They are very messy babies! Plus they eat a ton. I have $100 in TSC giftcards say what?! yup $100 I am soooooooo excited!!! Here comes tons of food! I am gonna get sun flower seeds and all the other things to make Jedan's babies gain some weight! It's going to be close if they will make weight for farm show or not. I hope they do so they are going to be getting as much food as I can stick in their little tummies! haha :)
OH! The bunnies got some nice christmas presents today! I didn't give them to them yet since well it's not christmas! Here's what I got them but don't tell them haha ;)
It's just a picture but it's a bunch of bird toys safe for bunnies of course I got from bird.com I HIGHLY recommend them.. I ordered them like 2 days ago and they are already here! Can you say fast?! and I didn't have to pay for next day shipping or whatever it is. I am gonna order some more toys from there next time I get some more bunny money haha :)

I also sold Jedan and Panda they will be going to a great home together :) They are leaving on the 15th. Mallorie and Chomper are still available, unless Chrissy sells them, she sells her bunnies so fast! I can't believe it! haha :)
Also probably tomorrow I will post my 2011 goals! I am excited to do this, I see other people do it and stuff and now I finally can since i have been breeding more often lol.

That's okay I didn't want babies anyways!

First of all can you say failure at keeping this blog up to date! I have no excuse for it either I haven't been working that much lately either so the only excuse I have is I was lazy haha :)
Anyways!
So in case you haven't noticed I haven't had babies since I don't know OCTOBER! crazy right?! Well I mean I have had Noel have 2 babies - Both long stretched out, Mirie have  babies - All DOA and Mallorie have 3 babies - All Peanuts so you would think that now would be the time this round they would actually have live normal babies. Well I couldn't tell you that because there is still no in-pregnantion (not sure if it's a word but now it is!) happening. I am having the worst luck ever on my does taking. So it may be my fault since I don't try very hard but I am not the one getting pregnant so I shouldn't have to assist!
Hopefully soon I will have something more exciting perhaps to update about!
Until then sayonara!

Spark burning up?

Hmmmm, I have been having mixed feelings about rabbits lately, I just don't know what to think anymore. I love the rabbits a lot and I love being out there but for some reason I am just lacking the spark. I think since i started my new job I haven't really been in to them I am not sure why. I know i don't want to get rid of the rabbits forever, I think I just need something to get me more into to them again. Maybe a new breed? I am not sure but I need to figure out something soon! I think I will probably do a large herd reduction here shortly and then go from there maybe that's what I need?

I. hate. frozen. water.

I love winter a lot, but I absolutely hate frozen water bottles. I just hate defrosting them, I hate that they don't have fresh water all the time. I just hate everything about them. I could buy a heater but that poses 2 problems, 1 a fire and I know that it isn't likely but I don't want to risk that since I am not home that much anymore I wouldn't be here and it just spells disaster! Then my other reason is that the mice would come in or something and I hate mice and I could set mouse traps but Lily and Reese run around the shed all the time they live in there so I couldn't leave mouse traps in there obviously! I switched mainly everyone to bowls so I just dump the ice out and re fill the bottles but I can't wait for spring, I love spring and fall, the does want to be bred, no more kitcicles, no more frozen water bottles, no more coldness, no more darkness :)

Netherland Dwarfs

Well in case you didn't know we are starting Netherland Dwarfs!
Yay! Hehe :)
I am really excited to bring a new breed into the rabbitry. I am excited to start working with them . I am hoping got keep them SMALL and by small I mean SMALL like 6 holes or so. I have 3 soon to be 4 now so I am hoping I will have 6 seniors then however many juniors is necessary at any point in time. I am going to try to cull really heavily on these guys.
I am hoping I will be able to stick to the number I have in my  head well it's really important for me to stick to that number. I still want Hollands as my main breed so I am hoping to keep a herd of 6 Netherlands and 12 Hollands then I will have room for about 7 juniors at any given time.
I think for Netherlands I am going to be working with the Tan group because I love the otter and I also love Blue so we can have Blue Otter :) haha perfect! (Shout out Julie and Keep this time ;) ) I am super excited because I have an awesome christmas present coming from the one and only April (claps). A black otter buck who is a grand champion!! I can't wait! He's too old to show but man he should do wonders to start me off!
Just to introduce you to everyone I have Razzle Dazzle's Ziva she is a black himi junior doe who is to die for hehe. She's my fave in the ND herd so far. Then there's Mallorie and older brood doe and Chomper a brood buck.
That's All!

State College Show

Let's see State College was back on 10/24/2010
It was a lot of fun!! Not that any show isn't haha, Chrissy was there again yay!! Shows are always fun with her :) She had her son Nick this time who is 5 and he was soooo cute!! He is such a well behaved little boy too no matter what she thinks! I brought Kennelly, Avery, Chrisily, Bling, Chomper I think that's it haha :)
Ken got his usual lower class placing I think he got 12 out of 16 I am still determined for Ken to do well at a bigger show, it will happen just will take some tim :)
Everyone else did okay nothing really amazing :( That's okay soon I will have my own to show!
I picked up Chomper  and Ziva at the State College show. I sold the rest of the lionheads plus Laurel there too. Nothing really exciting there everyone was gearing up for convention so there wasn't that much to buy bunny wise haha :)
I bought some more dishes they were blue unfortunately because they were out of the tna ones and I have OCD and like everything to match haha, but then I bought water bottles and a 4 hole carrier which will be much needed!
That's all for State College

New HL Juniors!

We have some new additions here!
I am super excited I have 6 really nice looking HL Juniors 3 does and 3 bucks. I am really impressed with the way they are turning out and they are all so friendly too. This is my first batch of babies that I think have show potential :D
Anyways here they are!
Wagner's Genesis - Jedan x Kennelly - DOB 10/13/10
Genesis is a really nice overall complete doe. She has a longer coat though and she doesn't eat that much so she's teeny! I love how complete she looks overall already at like 7 weeks old! She also has really short tree trunk legs!
Wagner's Denali - Jedan x Kennelly - DOB 10/13/10
I love Denali's topline! He is a really solid body nice depth which is what Ken lacks. He also has nice full hindquarters which he gets from Jedan.
Wagner's Polar Express - Jedan x Kennelly - DOB 10/13/10
Polar is so cute!! He is all cheeks! I love  him! He has a nice big ol' head and has the chubbiest cheeks ever!! He reminds me a lot of Ken he looks like him but with more mass. He also has Jedan's flighty personality which is the total opposite of Ken!
Wagner's Bennery - Jedan x Kennelly - DOB 10/13/10
Bennery is really cute little buck! His head is well grape size.. haha not literally but it's teeny! I think it will come in when he gets older though :) I like how short he is I am excited to watch these guys grow up :)
Wagner's Pandora - Panda x Kennelly - DOB 10/24/10
Pandora is an absolute doll! She's so cute and there isn't much to critique since she's like 5 1/2 weeks old but she is looking really good right now!
Wagner's Kennedy - Panda x Kennelly - DOB 10/24/10
Holy Quacamoly! (or however you spell it haha) Kennedy is drop dead gorgeous!! I love her so much :) She's a broken pointed blue white if that makes any sense so she's not showable but I am excited to breed her back to Ken :)

I'm Back!

Well I am back!! The last blog I uhm.. forgot the password so this time I made it something I couldn't forget! Plus I wrote it down haha ;)
Anyways lots has happened since the last time I posted! Last time I was just getting ready to leave for Lebanon with JULIE! so I will start from there :) Julie and I had a really fun time!! We met up with Chrissy from Huggable Hollands when we got there and spent the day together. I only brought Chrisily and Kennelly and Chris got DQ-ed both days for lack of color (figures right) and Ken got 3 out of 7 which is so good for Ken! hehe :) I am so proud of him!

I picked up Mallorie my chinchilla doe at Lebanon for free! yay! haha :) She's 6 so she's odler but she recently had 3 peanuts so she can still produce!!

Also at Lebanon when Chrissy was hunting for a buck to improve her chocolates she found CHAUNCEY who is very appropriately named and he is such a lover :) Then I spotted a Chestnut Doe (Idina) (Uh-Deen-A) and she's amazing!! She's perfect (SHOUT OUT JULIE!) and that's her nickname. Julie April and I all went in on her together so she is co-owned between all of us and currently has a litter of 2 to Spring Lake's DonOvan who is owned by Julie. They are so cute! There is an Orange and a black.\

Anyways, Julie got this adorable JW named Hazel who kind of looked like a squirrel considering she was chestnut and she was molting(ish) but anyways I bought a purple carrier so Perfect/Idina went in there and Hazel went in there. Julie and I were super sneaky and snuck the rabbits into the hotel room (although we don't think the hotel people would have cared) but while Idina and Hazel were happily frolicking in the room it was time to go to sleep so I picked up Idina like the perfect (SHOUT OUT TO JULIE) bunny she is and put her in the carrier then it was time to get Hazel who well attacked (sort of) Julie's face and that was the high light of Lebanon!

Then April joined us the second day and we were beyond excited to show her our purchase that she didn't really see it was more so of April buy this rabbit with us without seeing her kind of thing :) April got a new ND doe no 2 no 3 I can't remember but for once in my lifetime I went home with less rabbits than Julie and April did! I am so happy ahaha
